Welcome to the Central Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives!

The Archives here at NMU has been working on some exciting projects lately. In addition to the collections available at www.nmu.edu/Archives,we now have three external websites dedicated to individual research topics. Whether you are interested in examining the works of John D. Voelker, listening to your ancestors and other dignitaries from our Oral History Collection, or trying to unravel the story behind the Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Mining Company, this site can point you in the right direction.

The Websites

This website contains digitized records from the Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company. Along with the annual reports from the mining, land, and lumber departments, there are high definition scans of maps related to the area and a collection of photographs.
